My name is Jacob Richardson. Before running out of money, I was the Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of my own Android-specific mobile game company, Nomuda Games for two and a half years. For that position I had to juggle many different yet exciting tasks that go into producing a fun, interactive adventure game. On the creative side I developed the story arch—a time travel saga—that was to be a multi-episode adventure game on the Android market. While we only released two episodes, I crafted the story to weave together an epic gaming experience for all ages. On the development side, I oversaw the creation of in-game assets, set out blueprints on the layout of each level, decided how best to place objects and puzzles as the player navigates through the level to create optimal fun, and worked closely with our art director to whitebox level designs.
While helping to manage and start Nomuda I also created the marketing materials and communication tools. I grew our Facebook and Twitter presence to over 450 fans and managed three designers concurrently. I was also in charge of writing content to potential investors, of which we procured $15,000, and I acted as lead researcher for investments and mobile/social gaming trends.
During the day, I work as Proposal and Grants Editor for DPK Consulting where I manage all formatting, editing, branding, and styling for projects that support USAID, the World Bank, and the US Department of State and bring in an annual revenue of $5,000,000. Being able to juggle both Nomuda and DPK, I pride myself on being a hard worker, able to manage multiple jobs and tasks at a time, and being highly organized.
Raised on an endless supply of comic books (Marvel, DC, Image, Top Cow, Dark Horse, you name it), I believe I have quite a flair at storytelling and would love to continue nurturing this creative side I have. I'm still trying to believe that having fun and working can go hand in hand, yet that's what I'm striving for.
